What is the impact of immigration on wages? on unemployment? on patenting? on education? Do old and young move for the same reasons? How are first-time and return moves distinct?
How does immigration affect patenting? Which types of immigrants patent the most? Why do women leave engineering? How does innovation spread geographically?
Why is wage inequality rising? Do people move around in the wage distribution? Do female employers and supervisors treat women better?
What policies speed economic recovery after recession? Is the share of low-wage workers really rising? Does cutting hours increase employment? What determines the duration of unemployment?
Why is eastern unemployment so high? Why has convergence with the west stopped? Who were the reunification winners and losers in the east? What determines east to west migration?
How are income and bribery related? Which public officials are most corrupt and why? Do public and private sector bribery differ? Why do crime rates differ across countries?
